Hip Hop Instructor
Kalina Santiago was born in Kissimmee, Florida where she began her dance career at the age of 9 at A Class Apart Dance and Gymnastics, trained by Samantha Hanson and Sarah Galiasatos. When A Class Apart merged with Studio 13 dance academy she was then trained under Jessica Petrosky. Throughout her high school years Kalina trained in gymnastics, hip hop, contemporary, jazz, and lyrical. She was also in a dance crew by the name of FaLsE Gravity as well as choreographed for theater production, school performances, and talent shows. Through the years she has attended multiple workshops with renowned dance crews such as; Kinjaz, Academy of Villans, Funkywunks, etc.
In 2013, Kalina began teaching hip hop and jazz at Studio 13. Her teaching career would soon lead her to be an assistant director at Double Dragon Dojo and Dance academy in 2015 where she managed the dance program and taught contemporary and fusion classes for 2 years.
At the age of 19 she began intensive training with TheSQUAD a professional competitive hip hop dance crew. It was through TheSQUAD that Kalina entered the hip hop dance battle scene where she would place Top 8 in the Kissimmee Lake Front battle in 2017, Neo Soul Battle 2018. Soon after, she auditioned for the team where they competed internationally. With this team, she went on to win first place for Prelude South Championships 2018-2019, World of Dance 2018 and placing fourth in the nation at Hip Hop International 2018. Kalina is currently in training with TheSQUAD to prepare for World Of Dance Miami and very active in the Dance Battle community. She is also a member of a Non-profit organization by the name of Type Zero Foundation that promotes healthy living and serves as a support group for families that suffer with diabetes. Through this foundation she assists the founder, Christina Martin in organizing all dance related events. Kalina is enthused by her position at 3D Motion Dance and is ready to start this new chapter.
